藁の力 The power of strow of rice

川口さんのやり方を習って、田んぼに苗代の準備をしています。

 

土の表面を削り取って平らにした後、藁をきっちりとかぶせておきました。

 

今日、米ぬかを土の表面に撒くために藁を一度撤去しました。

 

藁の下がかなり暖かくなっていることがわかりました。

 

先日の雨でわらの下の方は濡れていますが、手で触ってもあたたかく感じます。

 

藁には籾が残っていますが、籾から芽が出てきています。

 

雑草の種からも芽が出てきています。

 

 

アカガエルが何匹か、休んでいました。

 

藁を取ると元気にぴょんぴょん飛び跳ねます。

 

中にはお腹が膨らんだのもいて、来年の2月頃に産卵すると思われます。

 

 

来年種籾の芽出しをするのに、これは強い味方だと感じました。

 

夜中に気温が氷点下に下がっても、わらの下はおそらくそんなには下がらないと思われます。

 

土の乾燥も防いでくれるので、特にポット苗で芽出しするのに有利な気がします。

 

来年の播種、苗代が楽しみになりました。

 

 

I'm preparing the bed for rice baby following the way of Kawaguchi Yosyikazu san.

After scraped away the top layer of soil, i had laid rice straw closely together on the soil to prevent the soil surface.

Today, I took out the rice straw away, and found that the rice straw was warm.

Under the rice straw, some rice seeds put forth buds.

Under the rice straw, there were several frogs.

Some frogs has become pregnant.

They will lay eggs around Februaly next year.

 

I can use this rice straw to put forth buds next spring.

The rice straw will prevent the dry of the soil too. 

 

I'm looking for the start of the "rice work" in the next spring.
